Sec. 1. Principles of reimbursement for nursing facilities. Resolved: That the
Department of Human Services shall adopt rules regarding
reimbursement for nursing facilities to incorporate supplemental
staff payment into the per diem rate. The department shall
verify at the annual audit that these funds have been distributed
as directed to direct care staff in accordance with Public Law
1999, chapter 731, Part BBBB. Rules adopted pursuant to this
section take effect July 1, 2002. Rules adopted pursuant to this
section are major substantive rules as defined by the Maine
Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter II-A.

 
SUMMARY

 
This resolve directs the Department of Human Services to amend
its rules to incorporate supplemental staff payment into the per
diem rate for nursing facilities and to verify at the annual
audit that these funds have been distributed as directed.
