| This bill proposes to provide for a rebuttable presumption of |
| eligibility for workers' compensation benefits for hepatitis or |
| hepatic-related disease for firefighters and emergency medical |
| services personnel who have been active members of a municipal |
| fire department or a volunteer firefighters' association for at |
| least 2 years prior to the onset of the disease. The presumption |
| would not apply to a firefighter who provided firefighting |
| services for more than one entity, e.g., a firefighter who worked |
| with more than one municipal fire department or who worked with a |
| municipal fire department and a volunteer firefighters' |
| association. |
