The additional
workload associated with the minimal number of new felony cases filed in the
court system does not require additional funding at this time. The collection
of additional fines will increase General Fund or other dedicated revenue by
minor amounts.
The bill increases the statute of limitations on Class A or Class B crimes
involving aggravated sex trafficking from 6 to 20 years. The current average
cost of incarcerating one individual for a single year is $55,203. It is not known how many individuals may be
imprisoned longer under this bill. No appropriations have been added to the
bill. |
